ORLANDO, Fla. – It may be November, but it's hot, hot, hot in the Orlando area.
"The big story weatherwise for Central Florida for the start of this week will be the heat," News 6 meteorologist Troy Bridges said. "Temperatures in many areas of the region will be near or above record-highs."
The high in Orlando on Monday will be near 90 degrees. The record is 92, set in 1919. Melbourne and Daytona Beach are also forecast to hit 89 degrees, which would be a degree above the records for those respective cities, both of which were set in 1951.
Highs will stay in the upper 80s through Wednesday.
Rain chances will be 20 percent on Monday and Tuesday.
"Rain chances will be higher if you plan to drive to northern zones in to the Panhandle and Georgia as a front is stalled out in that region," Bridges said.
Rain chances jump to 30 percent on Wednesday and increase through the weekend.
