Cold front brings showers, storms to central Florida Temperatures to tumble later Saturday into Sunday
ORLANDO, Fla. –
A line of rain and strong storms began moving through central Florida early Saturday morning, causing multiple watches and warnings.
That front brought strong thunderstorms, rain and wind.
By 10 a.m., the heaviest of the rain will be pushing through Melbourne, leaving us with partly cloudy skies and the coldest temperatures of the season take over.
Central Florida will start seeing temperatures drop by the afternoon because of the strong cold front. The temperature will reach 55 degrees by 4 p.m.
There are freeze warnings in effect for Sunday in Lake, Marion and Volusia counties.
Central Florida will reach a low of 37 degrees Saturday with winds picking up from the north at 15-20 mph, possibly gusting as high as 25 mph.
