ORLANDO, Fla. – A day after storms toppled some trees and caused power outages, it will be relatively calm across Central Florida.
"Dry air behind our cold front has dried out all the cloud cover," News 6 meteorologist Tom Sorrells said.
Thursday evening is expected to be in mild temperate of 65 degrees with no mention of clouds or rain.
"There are a few lingering showers and some pretty strong wind gusts for the early morning hours on Thursday," News 6 meteorologist Troy Bridges said. "This is all ahead of a front that is moving through the region."
Storm damage was reported Wednesday afternoon in Winter Park, Baldwin Park and Oviedo. A large tree was uprooted in Oviedo, pulling up a long stretch of grass with it.
"Officially at the Orlando airport on Wednesday, we had .49 inches of rain," Bridges said. "That puts our deficit at 8.33 inches since January 1."
Thursday's high in Orlando will reach 86. The average high on this date is 90. The record is 98, set in 1962.
"We will dry out and heat up for the end of the week as high pressure dominates behind the front," Bridges said.
Friday morning the temperature will start out at 70 degrees by 8 a.m., Sorrells said.
Expect a high of 91 on Friday.
Highs will be in the mid-90s Saturday through Memorial Day, with no chance of rain, Sorrells said.
Rain chances return on Tuesday.
