Toasty conditions continue before cold front slides through. Here’s when

ORLANDO, Fla. – Our large ridge of high pressure that has been in control over the past week will begin to break down Friday, which will allow a slight shift in our weather setup into the weekend.

For your Friday, expect a mostly dry day with well above-normal temperatures for early November. Highs will reach the mid to low 80s along the coast and the upper 80s for inland areas. With temperatures like this, locations like Sanford and Leesburg will have a shot to tie or break records today.

Forecast highs vs records:

Orlando: 87° (Record: 90° - 1895)

Sanford: 87° (Record: 88° - 2015)

Daytona Beach: 81° (Record: 86° - 2002)

Melbourne: 84° (Record: 91° - 1979)

Leesburg: 86° (Record: 86° - 2002)

As we head into the weekend, a weakening cold front will slowly slide south into Florida by Sunday. Along that front, models show more moisture creeping in, which will increase rain chances to 20% this weekend.

When it comes to weekend temperatures, Veterans Day and Sunday will be warm again with highs generally in the low to mid 80s before the front passes.

Forecast models disagree a bit by early next week on how long the clouds and showers will linger. As of now, rain chances will remain at 20-30% through most of next week with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s.

Those cooler changes also come with a strong breeze early next week which will quickly deteriorate beach and boating conditions. Seas will build up to 5-9 feet by Monday and subsiding a bit late Tuesday.

Tropics Update:

The National Hurricane Center is highlighting an area of low pressure could form in the southwestern Caribbean Sea by the middle of next week.

Because of this, they are giving this area a 20% chance of tropical development in the next seven days.
