Parade of fronts to start the new year in Central Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. – The first of three fronts this week has arrived in Central Florida with little fanfare, bringing a few clouds through the overnight.

Behind the front, cooler air will settle in on Tuesday, with highs in Orlando staying in the mid- to low 60s under mostly sunny skies.

A few clouds will return overnight as lows cool into the mid- to upper 40s inland and low 50s along southern Brevard County.

Our second cold front is scheduled to arrive late Wednesday night.

Before its arrival, clouds will build and highs will rebound back to near 70 degrees through midday. Rain chances increase late Wednesday through daybreak on Thursday, with coverage at 50%. Scattered showers, isolated storms and gusty winds will be possible as the system tracks overhead.

Don’t expect temperatures to drastically drop once the front passes, as highs will remain in the upper 60s.

The third and final front of the week is expected to move into the area late Saturday afternoon, with a 70% shot for rain and storms.

This front will be pushed through with a stronger upper-level jet, which will increase the potential for a few strong to severe storms as gusty winds could cause some concerns.

Saturday will be warm, with highs in the mid-70s, followed by a touch of cooler weather Sunday.
