After a chilly start in the 30s and 40s, temperatures will bounce back into the upper 60s, with overnight lows into Wednesday holding in the 40s and 50s.

A new front is forecast to drop through the eastern half of the country, with the tail end sliding through the Florida peninsula by Wednesday.

Winds ahead of the front will increase out of the west from 15-20 mph and a few gusts up to 25mph. A reinforcing shot will keep daytime temperatures near-to-slightly below normal for late January to early February.

Highs are expected to remain in the upper 60s to lower 70s, with lows holding in the 40s and 50s.

The pattern changes starting Sunday and into early next week.

Models remain in good agreement that a widespread chance of rain and few storms will return ahead of a strengthening front. The severe threat remains in question as dry air aloft and steering winds could support a few strong to severe storms.

Latest models show a 60-70% threat for Sunday, with activity lingering into Monday.
