ORLANDO, Fla. – Other than a few passing clouds Thursday, mild and quiet weather is forecast across Central Florida through Saturday.

High pressure will remain the dominant weather feature, keeping plenty of dry air in place. We will see a stretch of cool mornings in the 40s and 50s and mild afternoons in the low 70s.

Beachgoers and boaters beware as hazardous conditions are expected for another day. Along the beaches, rough surf and a high risk of rip currents are expected. Over the waters, a small craft advisory remains in effect with seas up to 7-8 feet.

As you make your weekend plans, make outdoor activities on Saturday as rain and storm chances will ramp up for the second half of the weekend.

A surge of moisture associated a cold front will sweep in from the Gulf of Mexico and across Central Florida late Sunday morning and into the early afternoon. Widespread rain of 60-80% will be likely through the day, with a few stronger storms embedded. While gusty winds of 35-45 mph could accompany those stronger storms, the severe weather threat remains low.

The unsettled weather pattern remains in place into early next week as the upper low remains nearly overhead Monday and Tuesday and cooler and windy weather settles.

Expect a 30-50% chance of scattered showers through Tuesday, with highs in the 70s Monday and into the low 60s by Tuesday.
