ORLANDO, Fla. – Sweltering heat will dominate the weather story today across Central Florida as “feels like” temperatures soar to dangerous levels.
Steady southwesterly flow will heat temperatures through the afternoon into the mid 90s, which is only 1-2 degrees shy of breaking records.
Combined with the humidity, heat indices are forecast to exceed 108 degrees. Because of this, heat advisories are in effect for all counties through 6 p.m.
As Tropical Storm Debby lifts northward, rain chances will return back to a normal sea breeze pattern with storm coverage at 40-50% from I-4 and toward the coastline through the afternoon.
The typical summertime pattern returns Friday and continues into the last weekend of summer break. Expect highs to climb into the mid 90s with storm coverage at 50-60% each afternoon.
