Patchy fog, cool start in Central Florida ahead of warmup this week. Here’s what to expect

Weak front moving down through Central Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. – A weak front is moving down through Central Florida today, bringing mostly dry weather with just a 10% chance of a light shower or sprinkle around Lake and Volusia counties by sunrise. Once the front passes, northwest winds will start pushing in a drier air mass later in the day.

Highs are expected to be in the mid to low 70s across Central Florida and even the upper 60s along the coast. As skies clear overnight, temperatures will drop into the upper 40s to low 50s. The coldest spots will be in northern Lake and Volusia counties, where lows could dip into the mid 40s under mostly clear skies.

The warm and breezy weather will also kickstart our pollen season with the high pollen numbers expected through the week.

Looking ahead to Wednesday through Friday, high pressure builds in Wednesday and anchors itself off the eastern Seaboard by Thursday. This setup will allow temperatures to climb steadily into the mid to upper 70s by the end of the week, with a few locations reaching 80 degrees.

Wind speeds will pick up by the end of the week, gusting between 15-20 mph as a weakening cold front approaches.

By Saturday, the cold front is forecast to move south across the area with a few scattered showers possible (20-30%).

There’s some uncertainty going into Sunday and Monday, as models suggest the front could stall just south of the area. A few scattered showers could be possible through this period with highs staying above average in the upper 70s to low 80s.
