Heat ramps up in Central Florida. Here’s why it’s warmer than usual

Temps head into mid-80s

ORLANDO, Fla. – If you’ve been tired of the foggy mornings recently, there’s some good news. It’s not as foggy today, and sunny skies are expected to take the spotlight.

Temperatures are rebounding to the mid-80s, making it feel more like May than February here in Central Florida. Orlando is looking at a high of around 84 degrees, while areas further north may experience slightly cooler conditions.

Looking ahead, the warm and sunny theme continues into Friday. While there might be the occasional sprinkle, most of Friday will be a pleasant mix of sun and clouds.

Thursday night’s temperatures are expected to dip between the upper 50s and low 60s, with some patchy fog possible, though not as widespread as previous days.

Over the next seven days, expect highs to continue running above average, possibly reaching into the high 80s by week’s end.

Wondering why it’s warmer than usual? The simple explanation is that both the polar and subtropical jet streams have retreated north, leading to a much warm-than-usual trend across Florida and much of the southern U.S. So for those enjoying these balmy days, you’ll enjoy the next two weeks.
