ORLANDO, Fla. – If you’ve been waiting for summer to show up early, your wish is coming true as Central Florida is heading into a stretch of hot and dry days.
The stormy pattern from last week has moved on, replaced by a large ridge of high pressure.
With plenty of dry air and limited rain, temperatures in the Orlando area will have the opportunity to steadily climb through next week.
How hot?
- Wednesday: Temperatures will run near normal for one more day in the mid-80s.
- Late week-weekend: Highs crank up even further into the mid-90s, even flirting with record highs by Sunday.
- Factoring in the humidity, “feels-like” temperatures will rise to near 100 degrees by the weekend.
While this kind of heat isn’t unheard of for summer, it is a bit of an early start for mid-May, so make sure to take some cooling breaks.
Any rain?
Although our lawns and plants are looking green and healthy right now, make sure to get your watering schedule back on the calendar as we will be staying very dry through the extended forecast.

Pool days & BBQs – Great time to fire up the grill or float in the pool, but don’t forget your sunscreen.
Indoor workouts – With the heat building, it might be a good week to move some of your fitness routines inside.
Sunset photography – With the clear skies, you can expect some vibrant colors around sunrise and sunset!
We would love to see your weather photos and how you are staying cool this weekend. Here’s how to do it.
