Tropical depression 3 has formed in the Atlantic. Hurricane Hunters found that the storm, previously known as Invest 92, has organized into a tropical depression.
Maximum sustained winds are at 35 mph.
The storm is expected to become a short-lived tropical storm before coming ashore in the Carolinas on Sunday.
If the depression becomes a tropical storm, reaching sustained winds of 40 mph, it would receive the name Chantal.
The worst of the weather is expected to be situated on the eastern side of the storm.
Hurricane season ends Nov. 30
