ORLANDO, Fla. – The National Hurricane Center on Saturday highlighted an area around Florida for potential tropical development.
As of Saturday’s 2 p.m. update, the NHC said an area of low pressure could form and develop mid-to-late week as it moves west across Florida and over into the Gulf.
There is a 20% chance of development in the next seven days.
Regardless of development, there will be heavy rainfall possible over parts of Florida mid-to-late next week as tropical moisture builds.
Hurricane season runs through Nov. 30.
