LIVE RADAR: Strong storms moving through Central Florida

Here’s what you need to know

ORLANDO, Fla. – Scattered strong storms are rolling through portions of Central Florida on Sunday.

There’s a marginal risk (level 1 out of 5) for severe weather Sunday throughout nearly all Central Florida counties. One or two storms may turn strong to severe, with the main concerns being heavy rainfall, plenty of lightning, small hail, and wind gusts up to 60 mph. The tornado risk for Sunday is considered very low.

Minor flooding is possible, especially in low-lying or poorly drained spots. While not everyone will see flooding, those areas typically at risk should be extra cautious.

Timing

The News 6 Pinpoint Weather team is also monitoring the northern Gulf, where the National Hurricane Center currently sees a low chance for tropical development over the next several days.

While development odds remain small, tropical moisture is expected to persist and keep rain chances high for Central Florida throughout the week.
