ORLANDO, Fla. – Summer is over. At least meteorologically.
For the three-month period of June, July and August, all Central Florida climate sites found themselves in the top 10 of warmest summers on record in terms of average temperature.
Average temperature consists of taking the morning lows and afternoon highs every day and taking the average.
To keep records clean, since the astronomical season varies slightly each year, there is a defined meteorological season.
Meteorological summer runs from June 1 to August 31.
Astronomical summer ends Sept. 21.
