ORLANDO, Fla. – A stalled front combined with deep tropical moisture will keep Central Florida soggy and stormy for the next few days.
Daily rounds of showers and thunderstorms are likely, leading to localized flooding.
This Week
Rain chances remain high (70-80%) with storms developing as early as late Monday morning and continuing into the evening.
The storms will move slowly, which means some locations could get repeatedly hit with heavy rain. Rainfall totals of 2 to 4 inches are possible. A Marginal Risk for excessive rainfall continues each day through midweek.
In addition to the rain, expect occasional strong storms with gusty winds up to 40-45 mph and frequent lightning.
Highs will stay near or just below normal, generally in the low to mid 80s.
Friday-Weekend
Looking ahead to late week and the weekend, rain chances will start to drop gradually, as drier air begins to move in behind the front.
A few showers could linger across southern zones, with coverage holding at 30-40%.
Breezy northeast winds will also develop along the coast, especially in the afternoons, with highs staying in the upper 80s.
