Storm coverage to increase in Central Florida. How’s the weekend looking?

Excessive rainfall possible in Brevard County

ORLANDO, Fla. – Expect storm coverage to increase from south to north on Thursday, with the greatest risk in the afternoon and early evening.

Areas from Orlando southward will have a 50–70% of rain and lightning storms, while areas farther north will see a slightly lower chances.

A Marginal Risk for excessive rainfall has been issued for parts of Brevard, where slow-moving showers could dump significant amounts of rain in short bursts.

Thanks to the cloud cover and onshore flow, temperatures will hover near or slightly below average through early next week.

Expect highs in the mid- to upper 80s, with overnight lows in the low to mid-70s. It will still feel warm, but not as oppressive as peak summer heat.

Light northeast winds in the morning will shift easterly in the afternoon, increasing to 10–15 mph, with gusts near 20 mph along the coast.

Weekend Outlook

Looking ahead to Friday through Sunday, daily rain and storm chances remain, particularly in the afternoons. Sunday may offer slightly less coverage, but don’t count on a full dry-out.

Breezy afternoons will continue through the weekend.

Fall officially starts on Monday.
