Imelda strengthens into a hurricane. Here’s the latest

Weather system brings dangerous beach conditions to Florida

ORLANDO, FlA. – Imelda, situated east of the Florida coast, has strengthened into a hurricane.

As of Tuesday morning, Imelda was 755 miles west-southwest of Bermuda and was moving northeast at 7 mph with 75 mph winds.

Imelda is the fourth hurricane of the 2025 hurricane season.

Even though Imelda continues to move away from Florida, dangerous beach conditions will continue for much of the week.

Meantime, Humberto remains a hurricane south of Bermuda.

Humberto early Tuesday had maximum sustained winds of 100 mph and was moving north-northwest at 17 mph.

There are no other areas for potential tropical development in the Atlantic.

Hurricane season ends Dec. 1.
