ORLANDO, Fla. – A stretch of soggy and windy weather is setting up along Florida’s east coast through the weekend.
Rounds of heavy downpours moving in from the Atlantic will increase chances for localized flooding as some spots could pick up at least 2-4 inches of rainfall.
This is all being driven by increasing onshore winds and a developing tropical disturbance, which are working together to draw in deep moisture.

Wind
Winds will also pick up speed, becoming gusty — especially near the coast — with gusts reaching 25 to 30 mph at times.
That will add to the choppy seas and hazardous boating conditions.
Rain
Rain chances stay elevated through Thursday and Friday, especially along the coast (60-80%), with scattered to numerous showers and possibly isolated storms during the day and night.
Latest rainfall forecasts show high rain totals through the weekend and into early next week.
Rounds of tropical downpours could rack up between 2-6 inches of rain, with the highest amounts expected along the coast.
Marine Hazards
Dangerous marine and beach conditions remain a major concern. High surf and breaking waves up to 6 to 8 feet are expected, along with life-threatening rip currents and beach erosion. Boaters beware as a small craft advisory remain in place.
Weekend-Next Week
Looking ahead into the weekend and early next week, the pattern stays wet and breezy. More rounds of onshore-moving showers as the disturbance tries to develop further.
