ORLANDO, Fla. – A shift in the weather pattern is on the way to Central Florida as cooler temps, stronger winds and rougher coastal conditions will settle in by the end of the week.
Wednesday
A weak cold front is moving through Wednesday. While most spots will stay dry, there’s a small chance (20%) of light showers, mainly offshore.
Ahead of the front, highs will be warmer than usual, in the mid- to upper 80s, before dropping into the 60s overnight.

Thursday to Saturday
A stronger northeasterly wind pattern sets up behind the front. Winds will be breezy each day, between 15-20 mph, with gusts up to 30 mph along the coast. This will stir up rough surf and hazardous boating conditions. Beach erosion is something we’ll be watching closely, especially around high tide.
Highs drop into the low to mid-80s and lows dip into the low 60s.
Sunday into Next Week
Forecast confidence drops a bit here as we track the arrival of a new front and developing Tropical Storm Melissa.
While Melissa is expected to stay well south and east of Florida, its exact track could alter how much moisture seeps into the area.
For now, expect 20–40% rain chances to start the week, with highs in the low 80s.

Halloween Preview
The possibility of a stronger front reaching us later in the week adds some intrigue for the Halloween forecast.
If it pushes in as models suggest, temperatures could dip into the lower 60s by trick-or-treat time, offering cooler evening conditions than we’ve seen lately.
Dry air behind the front also suggests a lower chance of rain on the holiday, making for a crisp and pleasant night for all the ghosts and goblins!
