Warm, breezy and mostly dry in Central Florida through Christmas. Here’s your forecast

Rough surf, high risk of rip currents along coast

ORLANDO, Fla. – Central Florida stays on the warm side of normal as we head toward Christmas, with no big cold snaps in sight.

A weak cold front is moving through the area Monday, but it won’t bring much impact beyond a few passing showers and gusty winds. While a couple of brief showers are possible — mainly near the coast and during the afternoon —most of Central Florida will stay dry.

Despite the front, temperatures remain mild. Highs on Monday will reach around 77 degrees, which is slightly above average for late December. Northeast winds will be breezy, blowing 10–15 mph with gusts up to 20–25 mph at times, especially closer to the coast.

Any isolated showers shift south Monday night, leaving us with clearing skies and quieter weather. Overnight lows will fall to around 61 degrees, still comfortably mild for this time of year.

Looking ahead, warmer-than-normal conditions stick around through Christmas Day. High pressure settles in, keeping rain chances very low and temperatures in the mid to upper 70s each afternoon. Overnight lows generally stay in the 50s and low 60s, depending on location.

One thing to watch if you’re heading to the beach: hazardous marine conditions continue Monday and Tuesday. Strong onshore winds will lead to rough surf and a high risk of rip currents, so swimming is not advised.

Overall, it’s a quiet and mild forecast heading into the holiday — great news for travel plans, outdoor activities, and Christmas celebrations across Central Florida.
