Central Florida to see warm, dry Christmas with dangerous beach conditions. Here’s what to know

Above-normal warmth, mostly dry skies for the holiday

ORLANDO, Fla. – Central Florida is on track for a warm and dry Christmas, thanks to strong high pressure settled over the state.

While much of the country is dealing with colder and more active weather, we’ll enjoy mostly sunny skies and afternoon highs in the mid to upper 70s on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Tuesday night, expect mostly clear skies with patchy light fog developing late, especially in typically prone inland areas. Overnight lows will dip into the 50s area-wide, with a few spots near the coast holding slightly milder.

Rain chances remain very low through Christmas. Aside from a stray, brief coastal shower near the Treasure Coast, most locations will stay dry — great news for holiday travel and outdoor plans.

However, beach conditions remain hazardous. Persistent onshore winds and elevated surf will maintain a HIGH RISK of rip currents at all local beaches. These conditions are dangerous, and entering the water is strongly discouraged.

If your Christmas plans include the beach, it’s best to enjoy it from the sand and stay out of the ocean.

Looking ahead, warm and dry weather continues into the weekend with highs in the upper 70s, possibly near 80. Rain chances stay minimal until early next week.

Bottom line: A beautiful, spring-like Christmas is ahead for Central Florida — just remember, the ocean will be unsafe, so celebrate smart and stay dry onshore.
