Snow in Florida...again? It could happen

Series of strong cold fronts set to blast into Sunshine State

ORLANDO, Fla. – Almost one year ago to the day, North Florida and parts of the Deep South saw an unprecedented snowstorm.

Could it happen two years in a row? Back-to-back strong cold fronts will make it possible.

The first Arctic front arrives Thursday, supplying the cold air to the South.

While it will be frigid in Central Florida through early next week, the snow potential clings to North Florida.

A second front blasts through Sunday into Monday, reinforcing cold air.

The moisture out ahead of this front will have the fresh cold air from the fronts to work with.

Some of the Gulf moisture that streams into North Florida ahead of that front could fall as snow.

While amounts likely won’t come close to 2025’s historic snowfall, it’s extremely rare to have snow, even flakes, in consecutive years in Florida.

The Euro, GFS and in-house models all suggest the possibility of flakes flying in North Florida and the North Gulf Coast Saturday night into Sunday.
