It’s still freezing in Florida. And another cold front is on the way

Orlando area will see brief mid-week warmup

ORLANDO, Fla. – Central Florida started Tuesday on a freezing cold note, with lows in the 20s and low 30s across the region, but conditions will slowly improve through the afternoon.

High pressure remains in control, keeping the weather dry as temperatures will climb into the 60s on Tuesday. While this is a bit warmer than than Monday, temperatures remains below normal (71 degrees) for this time of the year.

WEDNESDAY

Early Wednesday will not be as cold as recent nights, but it will still feel chilly. Low temperatures are expected to fall into the upper 30s to low 40s for many locations.

Colder spots northwest of I-4, including parts of Lake and inland Volusia counties, could dip into the mid-30s, with patchy frost is possible.

By Wednesday afternoon, temperatures finally rebound to near normal, with highs reaching the 70s!

THURSDAY-FRIDAY

Another cold front moves through late Wednesday into Thursday, bringing a return of unsettled weather. Isolated to scattered showers are expected, with rain chances increasing into the 30-40% range. While the rain will be beneficial, especially as drought conditions worsen, rainfall totals remain low.

Behind the front, drier and cooler air returns Thursday night into Friday morning. While this cold snap will not be as intense as the recent Arctic outbreak, low temperatures will again fall into the mid- to upper 30s, with a chance of freezing temperatures northwest of I-4.

WEEKEND

Looking ahead to the weekend, another front is expected to pass through, but it appears weak and dry. Temperatures should stay close to normal, with highs in the 70s and overnight lows in the 40s through early next week.
