Wonderful weather lingers in Central Florida. Will it rain this weekend?

Daytona 500 takes place on Sunday

ORLANDO, Fla. – Central Florida remains locked in a very dry weather pattern and there’s little immediate relief in sight.

High pressure continues to dominate, keeping rain chances near zero in the Orlando area through much of the workweek.

Tuesday’s high will reach around 79 degrees, with overnight lows near 55. While afternoons will feel warm and comfortable, the very dry air is becoming an increasing concern.

Parts of Central Florida are now experiencing extreme drought conditions, and several counties remain under burn bans, including Flagler, Marion, Sumter and Polk.

Low humidity values — in some spots dropping into the 25–35% range — combined with dry vegetation are creating fire-sensitive conditions. Even light winds can allow fires to spread quickly.

Looking ahead to the weekend, weather will be closely watched with the Daytona 500 taking place Sunday.

We are tracking a system that could bring rain back to Central Florida, but it now appears to be slowing down. At this time, the best chance for rain looks to arrive late Sunday into early Monday, with rain chances around 50%.
