Record breaking warmth arrives in Central Florida: Hottest stretch since early November

Saturday likely to be warmest day of year so far

ORLANDO, Fla. – Central Florida is in the middle of a big time warm up, and it is only getting hotter.

We are talking about back-to-back record breaking days during the warmest stretch we have seen since early November.

Warmest days of 2026

Afternoon highs are soaring well above the average of 76 degrees, with many spots pushing into the mid and upper 80s.

Highs Friday

Friday’s forecast highs are putting records in jeopardy across the region:

  • Orlando: Forecast 87° | Record 89° (set in 1988)
  • Sanford: Forecast 87° | Record 86° (set in 2019)
  • Daytona Beach: Forecast 84° | Record 85° (set in 1988)

The added heat will dry out soils and vegetation even faster, keeping fire danger high as drought conditions worsen across the region.

Saturday stays just as hot, if not hotter. Orlando is forecast to hit 88 degrees, setting the stage for Saturday to likely become the warmest day of the year so far.
