Cold front brings gusty winds and speedy showers this weekend.

Hazardous beach and boating conditions

ORLANDO, Fla. – A warm end to the week in Central Florida, but changes arrive this weekend as a cold front brings rain, gusty winds, and a slight cooldown.

Friday

High pressure keeps conditions mainly dry and warm across Central Florida.

There is a low chance (around 20%) for a few isolated showers this afternoon, mainly west of I-95 from Orlando as the sea breeze moves inland.

Most areas will stay dry, and storm chances remain very low.

Temperatures will climb into the low 80s along the coast and mid to upper 80s inland.

Weekend

A cold front moves toward Central Florida on Saturday, bringing increasing rain chances and much stronger winds.

Rain chances rise to 20–50% Saturday, with the best chances along the coast, then shift farther south on Sunday as the front stalls.

Storm chances remain low, and any activity will be fairly disorganized.

The bigger story will be the wind.

Winds turn out of the north-northeast at 15 to 25 mph, with gusts between 30 and 40 mph, especially along the coast. These breezy to windy conditions will continue into Sunday.

Saturday will bring a noticeable temperature split, with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s north of Orlando, while southern areas may still reach the mid to upper 80s.

By Sunday, slightly cooler air settles in, with highs dropping into the low to mid 70s area-wide.

Beach & Boating Hazards

The increasing winds will lead to dangerous marine conditions this weekend.

A Gale Watch is in effect for the Atlantic waters, where gusts could reach 30-35mph and seas building up to 10-15 feet.

A high risk of rip currents and rough surf is expected.

Early Next Week

The front fades, but onshore winds and lingering moisture will keep scattered showers in the forecast, especially during the afternoon.

Rain chances will run 20–50% Monday, then lower slightly through midweek.

Temperatures will gradually warm again, climbing back above normal by the middle of next week.
