ORLANDO, Fla. – The National Hurricane Center on Thursday highlighted an area in the tropics for possible development.
An area of low pressure could form early next week in the central or western Atlantic ocean.
The NHC said it is possible there could be some development as it approaches the Lesser Antilles during the early to middle part of next week.
It is then expected to move west-northwest toward the Greater Antilles.
There is a 50% chance of development over the next seven days.
Hurricane season runs through November.
