The worker reported the sighting to his superiors, who contacted authorities.

"I've got a weird one for you," a CSX worker said.  "Over there by the (Central Florida Zoo) ... our train advised they were going through and they saw a black, furry thing that looked like a gorilla run across the tracks."

"Oh, no," said the dispatcher, who was laughing.

"I am not lying," the worker said.  "I got the weirdest call of the day."

The animal was described as being an estimated 200 pounds.

No gorillas are kept at the Central Florida Zoo, located in Sanford, nor is the zoo missing any animals.

The Sheriff's Office said it is not actively searching for a gorilla or any other animals.
