Graham Media Group, located in Market #15 Orlando, Florida, is seeking a creative and innovative Audience Engagement Producer to help grow and strengthen the station’s connection with viewers across digital, social, and broadcast platforms. This role is responsible for developing audience-first content strategies that drive engagement and ensure our journalism reaches audiences where and how they consume news.
The Audience Engagement Producer works closely with newsroom leadership, producers, reporters, and the digital team to optimize content performance, expand audience reach, and enhance meaningful community interaction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute audience engagement strategies across social media, website, streaming, and emerging platforms.
- Monitor real-time audience analytics and trends to inform editorial decisions and content placement.
- Write, produce, and publish engaging social and digital content that supports daily news coverage and station initiatives.
- Optimize headlines, thumbnails, and story presentation for audience reach and engagement.
- Collaborate with producers and reporters to identify stories with high audience interest and digital potential.
- Manage station social media accounts, including posting, moderating comments, and engaging with viewers professionally.
- Identify opportunities for audience participation, user-generated content, and community storytelling.
- Track performance metrics and provide regular reports and recommendations to newsroom leadership.
- Assist in live digital coverage during breaking news and special events.
- Ensure all content aligns with journalistic standards, brand voice, and company policies.
- Stay current on social media trends, platform changes, and audience behavior.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Digital Media, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in a newsroom, digital media, or audience engagement role preferred.
- Strong writing and editing skills with an understanding of AP style.
- Demonstrated experience managing social media platforms professionally.
- Knowledge of digital analytics tools (Chartbeat, Parse.ly, Google Analytics, or similar).
- Understanding of broadcast newsroom workflows and deadlines.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as news coverage requires.
- Strong news judgment and commitment to ethical journalism.
