A printed label on Lotus Foods ramen noodle cups incorrectly instructs consumers they can microwave the disposable cups, and the company is now recalling the product because it poses a fire hazard.
Lotus Foods instructed retailers to stop selling the organic brown ride noodles om red miso, masala curry and tom yom flavors. The noodle cups, manufactured in China, are sold at Whole Foods Markets, independent natural specialty stores nationwide and Safeway in Northern California, as well as online on Amazon.com.

The company issued the recall after it received 12 reports of the soup cups becoming extremely hot, sparking or catching fire during microwaving, including one that caused a minor burn.
Consumers were instructed to not use the soups and contact Lotus Foods for a coupon to replace the product.
