Seminole County middle schools drop controversial grading system
Schools return to standard 0-100 format
SANFORD, Fla. – Seminole County schools have decided to drop a controversial grading system for students.
The school board voted Monday to return to the standard 0-100 system.
The return comes after the plan to change the grading scale to 0-4, with 4 being the highest grade, was met with criticism from parents.
Some parents say the new grading system was confusing and disincentivized students from working hard.
The changes will go into effect when students return to school in January.
