Sheriff’s Office: Brevard County Deputy fired after arrest

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – The Brevard County Sherriff’s Office says one of their deputies has been terminated after an arrest.

Richard Thompson, 40, was booked into the Volusia County jail on Saturday on charges relating to child abuse.

The Sherriff’s Office says Thompson was a deputy for three years.

Thompson is currently in jail on no bond.
