Real-life 'Magic School Bus' takes students on field trip to 'Mars'

ORLANDO, Fla. – A manned mission to Mars may still be years away, but students at Walker Middle School will get to take a peek into the future with help from a real-life "Magic School Bus."

The Mars Experience Bus is an immersive virtual reality vehicle that helps replicate the Martian landscape as riders experience what it's like to drive along the surface of the red planet.

The bus is part of Lockheed Martin's "Generation Beyond" program, designed to prepare students for NASA's planned mission to Mars in the 2030s.
