HOUSTON – On this day (Nov. 30) in 1982, Michael Jackson's epic album "Thriller" hit the shelves. The 13-minute movie-style music video debuted on MTV two days later.
Known for his slick dance moves and distinctive signing voice, this would be Jackson's sixth studio album. "Thriller" soared to the top of the charts and became- and still remains- the world's best-selling album, at 33 times platinum, according to Billboard.
Besides "Thriller," born from the nine-track album were multiple classic top 10 hits including, "The Girl Is Mine"- a duet with megastar Paul McCartney, "PTY," "Human Nature," and "Beat It."
