(CNN) – Fall movie season kicks off this week, and theaters are about to get very busy. From a new Jane Austen adaptation to a highly anticipated “Hunger Games” prequel, here’s a look at the biggest films arriving between now and late November.
Animated adventure leads the way
The season opens with “Forgotten Island”, an animated adventure landing in theaters September 25th.
Next up, “The Social Reckoning” arrives October 9th. Aaron Sorkin’s sequel to the Oscar-winning “The Social Network” stars Jeremy Strong as Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg. The film follows an investigative reporter examining the unprecedented role Zuckerberg and his company play in everyday life.
A classic love story, reimagined
October 16th brings a new telling of Jane Austen’s beloved “Sense and Sensibility,” starring Daisy Edgar-Jones.
November brings the big guns
November is packed. “The Cat in the Hat” — a new animated take on the classic story — pounces into theaters November 6th, the same day “Godzilla Minus Zero” stomps onto screens. The monster sequel follows the 2023 Oscar-winning “Godzilla Minus One.”
November 13th sees Johnny Depp starring as “Ebenezer,” bringing Christmas to theaters early this year.
The fall season wraps with one of the most anticipated films of the year: “The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping” opens November 20th, chronicling the events of the 50th Hunger Games.
Also coming this fall: Brad Pitt in “Heart of the Beast” and Tom Cruise in “Digger.”
