When the meal is finished, the data is then uploaded online via Bluetooth or USB to the your HAPIfork account. There you can choose to share their progress or keep it private. HAPIfork also comes with an app and a coaching program designed to help you eat better, according to the company's website.

HAPILABS, the creator behind this invention, argue that the fork helps people lose weight by slowing down their eating time. HAPIfork was originally made for clinical or medial use, but after scientific studies in 2002 showed many negative effects from eating too fast , the company thought everyone could benefit from the invention.

A Kickstarter for HAPIfork will be launching in March, according to Mashable, but the company has plans to launch in the United States in April 2013.
