A couple of new Publix stores are set to open their doors in the Sunshine State on Saturday, according to the company.
Publix spokeswoman Lindsey Willis told News 6 that one of these stores is located in Port St. Lucie at 12407 SW Community Blvd., with a grand opening slated for 7 a.m.
This location will span approximately 48,000 square feet and include an upstairs area, thus offering both indoor and outdoor seating to customers.
“Customers may catch a glimpse of the large, motorized Publix shopping cart traveling around the community on opening day,” Willis wrote. “The shopping cart is another way Publix is celebrating the company’s new location with the community and driving awareness for customer convenience.”

Meanwhile, the second Publix location opening in Florida on Saturday is set to open on the other side of the state in the Bayshore Gardens Shopping Center of Bradenton.
This location — situated at 6030 14th Street W. — is expected to be close to 55,000 square feet and feature a drive-thru pharmacy, Publix officials revealed.
But the good news for Publix fans doesn’t end there; next month, customers will get the opportunity to try free samples of certain goods at Publix stores across the state.
These samples will be given out in different departments of each stores, though Publix officials have already revealed the list of what treats you can grab.
They are as follows:
- Bakery — Iced Cinnamon Swirl Cake
- Deli — Korean-Style Noodle Salad
- Grocery — Lactose-Free Chocolate Peanut Butter Pretzel Ice Cream and Peanut Butter & Fudge Cookies
- Meat — Italian-Style Marinated Boneless, Skinless, Chicken Breast Cutlets
- Produce — Sweet Heat Summer Fruit Salad
The free-sample event is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 16, and it’ll run from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.
