ORLANDO, Fla. – How many times has your hose sprung a leak and you just threw it away? Don’t trash it, mend it!
There are all kinds of hose mending pieces you can buy at the hardware store – to splice pieces of hose together or to replace the connectors on the ends of a hose.
Each of these pieces is around $6.
If you have a project you’d like Erik to tackle, send us an email at GettingResultsAtHome@wkmg.com and next week Erik might just show up at your door!

We brought with us:
Scissors or razor knife
Phillips-head screwdriver
Step 1
Cut off the broken piece of hose. Do this with scissors or a razor knife.
Step 2
Install the mender.
If you’re replacing the hose end connector, it’s as simple as loosening up the screws on the collar of the mender, sliding the collar over the hose, and then pushing the mend piece into the end of the freshly-cut hose. #Househack – screw the mend piece into your sprayer handle or onto your hose bib (depending whether it’s a male or female mending piece). Then you’ll have something firm holding the mend piece in place that you can use to push the mend piece into the hose.
Step 3
Slide the collar over the mend piece and tighten down the screws.
You just got results at home!
