ORLANDO, Fla. ā Hamlin House, a new members only club in Orlandoās SODO District, is blending pickleball, coffee and cocktails into what its general manager calls a modern day racket club.
The club recently opened with seven pickleball courts, three indoors and four outdoors, along with a restaurant, cafƩ and space designed for members who want somewhere to work, meet or socialize beyond the court.
Hamlin House is our version of a modern day racket club, general manager Ashley Turner said. We are a members only club that has seven pickleball courts, three indoor and four outdoor.
The clubās dining program is a central part of the concept. Turner said Hamlin House offers lunch daily beginning at 11 a.m. and dinner starting at 5 p.m., with a cocktail menu and Florida inspired options that range from salads and sandwiches to burgers and beef.
A coffee shop on site is open daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., featuring coffee from local partner Lineage Coffee and breakfast options including breakfast sandwiches, smoothies and pastries.
Turner said the club is designed to elevate the pickleball experience with professional grade courts and that the indoor courts can also serve as event space. Members, or events sponsored by members, can book private gatherings such as corporate outings, birthday parties and holiday parties.
Pickleball play is reserved for members, though the club is currently offering limited opportunities for guests to try the experience through its concierge team, Turner said. Hamlin House is open daily from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Turner said Hamlin House is positioning itself as welcoming to a range of skill levels, from beginners learning the rules and scoring to more advanced, competitive players. She said some members are social only and join primarily for the coffee, dining and community.
Membership requires a $5,000 initiation fee and $400 in monthly dues, according to the club.
Turner said the SODO location was chosen for its central position and quick access to downtown Orlandoās sports and entertainment venues, positioning Hamlin House as a stop for people pairing dinner with a show or a game.
At the moment, prospective members can tour the space and apply without needing a referral, Turner said.
