1 arrested, 1 sought after shooting in Mount Dora Walmart parking lot, police say

Police: Kederick Hunter booked into Lake County Jail

MOUNT DORA, Fla. – One person has been arrested and one person is being sought by police after a shooting in the parking lot of a Mount Dora Walmart in July.

Mount Dora police said that following a thorough investigation they issued a warrant for the arrest of Kederick Hunter, 20, and Gabriel Dejkunchorn, 20, in the shooting incident.

Dejkunchorn was shot in the knee. Police said a third man, identified as Christian Watson, was shot in the back.

Investigators determined all three men were in a car that was in the Walmart parking lot. Police said Watson was in the driver's seat, Hunter was in the front passenger seat and Dejkunchorn was in the back seat behind Watson.

Investigators determined there were no other people involved in this shooting and that Dejkunchorn was holding a gun when it went off, police said. He shot himself in the knee, and the bullet then penetrated the front seat and hit Watson in the back.

Police said Watson ran from the car to seek help. Hunter ran off after the shooting, but eventually came back to the scene and told investigators he wasn't there at the time of the shooting, police said. Dejkunchorn also claimed someone else shot them.

Only one shot was fired. Police said Watson will not be charged with anything.

Hunter and Dejkunchorn face one charge of false reporting during the commission of a crime. Police said Hunter was booked into the Lake County Jail.

Anyone who knows Dejkunchorn's whereabouts is asked to call Mount Dora police or Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS.
