Rabies Alert Issued In Brevard

Residents Asked To Report Strange Animal Behavior

COCOA, Fla. – The Brevard County Health Department issued a rabies alert after a raccoon tested positive for the disease in Cocoa.

Rabies can be deadly to humans if it is not treated in time.

The Health Department said residents should stay away from wild animals and report any strange behavior.

Pets should always have their rabies shots and be kept on a leash, the Health Department said.
