Shooting victim dies after being airlifted to hospital

DeLAND, Fla. – A gunman who barricaded himself in a DeLand home after shooting and killing another man has been found dead, according to authorities.

Volusia County deputies said they received reports about the shooting around 5:20 p.m. Monday.  When deputies arrived, they said they found a man on the floor in a screened porch of a home on Oak Circle, bleeding from multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim, identified as Dominick Frangiamore, 62, was airlifted to an area hospital, where he died.

Deputies entered the home, where the shooting suspect had barricaded himself just before 11 p.m. He was identified as Mark Carper, 47.

Deputies said Carper died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
