DELTONA, Fla. – Two separate fires ignite a home in Deltona and an apartment complex in Orlando, displacing several residents.

Deputies said the Deltona fire sparked while there were people in the house, which occurred on North Fowler Drive at around 4 a.m.

The road was shut down at Deltona Boulevard for about an hour as firefighter worked to control the fire.

Local 6 spoke to a woman who lived in the home, who said she woke up and found the couch on fire. She believes the fire could have been started by a cigarette.

The state fire marshal is investigating. No injuries have been reported.

Meanwhile, another fire burned at an apartment complex near Ludlow Lane and Whitby Drive at the Lyme Bay Colony Condos and displaced seven residents.

Two patients were treated on scene for minor injuries. One had burns and the other sustained injuries escaping through a second floor window. The American Red Cross has been asked to assist with temporary lodging for seven adults displaced by the fire.
