CLERMONT, Fla. – A woman was shocked with a stun gun, handcuffed, gagged and raped inside a Clermont home before making a daring escape, police said.
Terry McBride, 31, was arrested on charges of sexual battery and false imprisonment.
Joe Sambuco, a neighbor, said he was working in his yard on Sunday and saw the woman leaving the house.
"I was out here cutting my lawn, heard some screaming, (and) there was a white guy chasing a black girl. She was bound in handcuffs, with her feet and her hands behind her back. She had one of those bondage masks on (and) when I looked over she was getting beaten by him," Sambuco said.
Sambuco said he helped the woman after having his son call police.
"I ran in the house, grabbed my son, (and) he dialed 911. We ran back out (and) when I came back over to that house, he jumped off of her, started walking back to that house across the street there, and at that point I ran across the street to help the girl," Sambuco said.
The woman said McBride picked her up earlier in Orlando and drove her to his home. Police said McBridge had worked with her for about five years but she didn't agree to come to his house.
She said he pointed a gun at her head and forced her into his bedroom, where he bound and raped her, according to Clermont police.
The woman said McBride left her alone while he smoked a cigarette and she was able to break the zip ties that held the cuffs together on her legs, the police report stated. She said she fled the home through the front door, but he gave chase and started to drag her when Sambuco intervened, the report stated.
"She was absolutely scared to death, no doubt, fearing for her life-shaking, there was blood, her hands behind her back tied, she couldn't even move," Sambuco said.
Clermont police officers saw McBride drive off, and he was arrested a short time later.
McBride admitted that he bound and gagged the woman and used a Taser gun on her, but he said it was consensual, according to police.
The woman denied that she consented to any type of sexual activity, police said.
An open bag of zip ties that matched the ones found on the woman was found in McBride's car, police said.
McBride was arrested and officials are asking that he be held on no bond. Police said McBride has been renting the home for about two months from Shean Galvin, who was arrested in October on sexual battery charges.
