OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – Efforts to save a 10-month-old dog after she was hit by a car in Osceola County nearly nearly depleted a special fund kept by Osceola County Animal Services.

Hannah, a 10-month-old German Shepherd mix, was found by deputies hiding under a car after being hit on South John Young Parkway on Jan. 18.
She was brought to an emergency veterinarian, where she eventually underwent surgery to repair a shattered pelvis and two broken front legs.
"Right away, I noticed this dog had a will to live," said Vickie Dryer, Osceola County Animal Services Shelter Manager.
Dryer said she combed over Craigslist, Facebook and lost dog reports for days trying to find Hannah's owners.
They finally came looking for her at animal services, but when they found out what happened to the puppy and how much it would cost to help her, they decided to leave her at the shelter.
Osceola County Animal Services decided to save the dog themselves, paying more than $2,000 for the surgery.
Now, they're not only looking for a family to adopt Hannah, they're also looking for vital donations to refill the fund to help other animals like Hannah in the future.
"That's what our mission is," said Dryer. "(It's) to save a life -- as many as we can -- one at a time."
