Summer-like setup for Sunday. Here’s when you can expect storms to move in.

Storm coverage between 30-40%

ORLANDO, Fla. – Central Florida is in for a quick weather rollercoaster over the next few days, with storms, a brief cooldown, and a fast return to summer like heat all on the way.

Sunday will be another warm day as afternoon storms develop late into the afternoon and evening hours. A weak cold front approaching from the north will collide with sea breeze boundaries, helping spark scattered storms closer to sunset. The greatest chance for storms will be between I 4 and I 95.

Some storms could turn strong, producing frequent lightning, brief heavy rain, and wind gusts between 45 and 55 mph. High temperatures will climb into the upper 80s ahead of the storms.

MONDAY

By Monday morning, winds shift out of the northeast as the cold front slides through. Rain chances remain low with the front, but a few brief showers are possible. Temperatures ease slightly, with highs in the low to mid 80s.

The cooldown does not last long. By midweek, high pressure builds back in, bringing dry conditions and a noticeable jump in temperatures. Inland areas have a strong chance of reaching the low 90s by Wednesday, with that heat continuing into late week.

WEEK OUTLOOK

Looking ahead, another front could linger, bringing a few spotty showers. For now, the big story will be the heat as temperatures are expected to climb into the lower 90s.
