Group offers free, no-surgery neutering in Central Florida

New technique aims to control pet overpopulation

SANFORD, Fla. – The Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando is offering free, no-surgery dog neutering this weekend at its clinic in Sanford.

The procedure uses an injection of Zeuterin into the dog's genitals, which veterinarians say is virtually pain-free for the animals and eliminates the need for cutting.

"There is no anesthesia with Zeuterin, and dogs can go home right after the injections," Pet Alliance veterinarian Dr. Rebecca Rhoades says.

The surgery-free neutering event takes place at the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando's Sanford Clinic, 2800 County Home Road, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis.
