ORLANDO, Fla. – An Orange County grand jury has indicted a man accused of murdering an elderly woman more than a year ago.

Investigators say Juan Rosario set the house of 83-year-old Elena Ortega on fire to cover up his tracks.

Florida State Attorney Jeff Ashton and Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings announced Rosario's indictment in a news conference on Thursday afternoon.

"It's an incredible example of great detective work over a long period of time, relentless and with community cooperation, it shows what can happen when law enforcement officers keep at it and enlist the public's help in a positive way," said Ashton.

Rosario has been a person of interest in Ortega's murder since the fire revealed her body in September of 2013.

Rosario is already behind bars on an unrelated charge.
