VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – A man and a woman were arrested Tuesday for attempting to steal more than $200 worth of items from the Publix at 2400 S. Woodland Blvd.
Officials said Elizabeth Leola Breland, 44, and Robert Earl Harris, 48, were seen walking into the store with empty Publix plastic bags in a shopping cart.

The two were then reportedly seen placing numerous items into the bags before passing through an empty checkout line toward the exit of the store.
Breland and Harris were stopped after passing all points of sale and officials were called.
According to an arrest affidavit, Breland eventually admitted to stealing the merchandise but Harris stated that all of the items were paid for.
Officials said there were six bags of frozen shrimp, three beef oxtails, two loaves of bread and other items in the cart totaling $205.28.
The two were charged with petty theft.
